Hi guys, i don't know if this subject has been touched upon, but is there a way to disable/ turn off the microphone on the W3j?
i tried the control panel and the volume control, there isn't an option to mute the microphone while in the volume control window. i set it's volume all the way down, but it is still on, as when i talk into the microphone i can hear myself in the speakers, and when i close the lid i get feedback from the microphone to the speakers.

There should be an option to mute it right in XP. Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control > Advanced. There should be an option where you check the mute button near the mic... But getting feedback - that shouldn't happen. You shouldn't be able to hear your voice on your speakers. Have you updated your audio drivers?

Ok, i was fiddling around with the volume properties and i found the solution. in the volume control, >options > playback, my mike control wasnt' showing. i was looking in the "recording" section, and there was no mute there. in the playback section the mike can be muted, that's what i was looking for.

The setting either the "Audio" or "Voice" in "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" under the Control Panel. Clicking the "volume" show us that the Microphone's check box is marked, check the Select for CD Volume should disable the Microphone.
