Hey guys don't kill me if this is answered somewhere else but I got my W3Jp to work completely fine in Windows 7 except for the fact that if I don't use my notebook cooler for about an hour it'll shut down. I know for a fact that it never had this issue with Vista. Do I need to update the ACPI files? Does anyone know where to find this for the 64-bit Win 7, would it make a difference if I used the old Vista ones?

    Thanks!

Sounds like it could maybe be a combination of two issues:

    - upgrade to W7 is causing either the CPU, GPU, or both to run at higher clocks (E.g., speedstep disabled or powermizer disabled)
    - your notebook cannot cool itself down properly, possibly because of dust buildup in the fan and vents.

I would definitely recommend a cleaning if you didn't do that in a while.

You should also monitor your CPU and GPU frequencies (use CPU-Z and GPU-Z for that purpose) and see if they downclock properly when not under
load. If they don't, then post back.

You could try the Vista ATK drivers.

This is the system at idle with the ATK ACPI installed. I just installed it so I'm not 100% sure that if it did or didn't resolve my issue. Can someone let me know if this looks normal? I think it's still iffy because my bluetooth seems to shut off after the system reaches a certain temperature.

    Thanks!
