Hey guys, just a quick question...
I noticed recently (lol after 1year...) that my w3j has some sort of video-out component so that I can hook up a tv to my laptop?
I'm planning on heading out to futureshop this weekend to purchase the cable required, could someone tell me what I'm looking for exactly? I plan to hook it up to my regular tv in my room.. its nothing special, not HD or plasma or anything, just a flat-screen television (no name brand).
Thanks!!
edit: and how does the cable work exactly? 1 end goes into my laptop, whats on the other end... the 3 colors that usually go into a tv (red/white/yellow) ? Ive never done this before![]()

2 ways you can hook up your laptop to a regular tv:
1) The easiest way would be to use the conversion cable that came with your notebook (the S-video like to composite) and use composite cables (red/white for sound, yellow for video) to hook it up.
2) The other way is if your tv has an S-Video input, you can buy an S-video cable and use that in place of the conversion cable and then use the red/white cables for audio.
Btw, for the audio, you'll need a cable that converts from stereo headphone-sized jack to the RCA red/white (left/right).
W3J Question: S-Video Out.
