In another post someone mentioned that the storage drawer was just a stripped down HD kit. Can the storage drawer me modded to use the hard drive? What would be needed for parts? Is this a possible mod?

Also has anyone else come up with storage drawaer mod ideas?

It's called a travelers drawer and it's the same shell as the 2nd HDD kit. Technically and phsyically it can be done, but in the end you'll wish you just spent the $30 some and bought it. You'd need to basically create the board that connects to the hard drive on one side and then the one to notebook on the other side.... The screws are easy, although they're not some normal size you'd just pick up at a hardware store or a radioshack.....

If you wanted to spent quality time with this........ it'd be more worth the time to make an ipod dock out of it....

One thing that would be quite easy to do, would be to get a converter that converts the pins on the HD to USB, then just have a little cord sticking out of the modular drawer and running into the USB port. Wouldn't take much time or effort. Might have to drill a small hole in the travelers drawer.... Shouldn't cost more than $5 for the parts either...
