    Hi,
Just received my W3J in the mail today. While I love the look of the system and everything, my temps seem pretty high. On "quiet office" mode, my cpu is 55 degrees celcius and my hard drive is 49 degress celcius.

Does this seem normal, or does my machine need to be serviced?

BTW, it is sitting on my lap.

    Sean

That seems very normal. I wouldn't be worried about that at all. On your lap is not the best for cooling, so your CPU temp seems fine. The HDD is higher than I would expect, but again, if its on your lap, I wouldn't be worried.

On a side note, there were two studies done recently on hard drive failures, one by Google. One of the conclusions was that hard drive failure rate did not correlate directly with operating temperature.

Those temps are pretty normal. Nothing to worry about here!
