Ok I am about to jump over to vista. =) as I have heard most of the DuoT2500 having success installations.
Now my question is where do I find the drivers.
I have run Upgrade Advisor and the only issues it finds is the :
Cannot Find info on Infineon TPm
Cannot Find info on SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio
Cannot Find info on Bluetooth RFCOMM
Cannot use Bluetooth Stack for Windows
ATI CCC might have issues with Vista.
Intel PROSET Wireless might have issues with Vista.
Can someone please list or upload all the drivers neccessessary to make my W3J run a full mode at least make everything owrk after the Vista install. Please and Thank you, and by the way I have searched throught the forum page by page but it is all confusing.

Hi, just go to the Asus website, put "W3J" into the seach field, it should come up with a page for downloading W3J drivers. Then you would be able to see Vista 32 Bit drivers for the W3J.
-
thanks dtx for the reply, i tried that landed at this page : http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=W3J
could not find any drivers relating to vista. only found xp.
could it be the region? im located in north america. =S -
ROFL, to many people jamming the server! I get a different page with an apology from Asus stating that there are too many connections at this current time!
Hmmm... I just visited the download page, there is Vista 32 bit drivers! -
Ok, lets try again:
When you click on the link in your post, you get a page that states that there is an error.
Click on Global.
Then type in W3J from search field.
Select "W3J Related Files For Download"
Then select "Vista 32bit" -
thank you dtx for the steps...now i see the drivers. i am downloading all of them right now, but can't find one for bluetooth.
-
For the missing drivers, go here
I think there is a link to the BT drivers there. -
ty dtx you have been a tremoundous help. I will sleep on whether to go for it, as I hope it if does that infinite loop thing I will be able to revert back to xp.
what is the difference between power4gear xTreme and power4gear for vista? -
I say go for it! If you want to prepare yourself in the event of an "Infinite Boot Loop" you can follow the directions in here It worked perfectly for me to get around the loop and install vista. If you have any questions i'd be happy to talk to you about it (I ran it on 2 different HDD's so I had a little practice
). As for the difference between P4G Xtreme and "regular" P4G, I'm honestly not sure. I've just been using the standard Vista power management until NHC gets updated for Vista
-
Create a Ghost image of your current XP installlation. Thats what I did! If you find that you dont like Vista, you can always reload that Ghost image, and vola!

I have installed Vista Ultimate flawlessly. No problems throughout the installation, all my drivers are working (i think).
except for one little thing:
the side buttons to my w3j do not work. the power management, bluetooth on/off, spledid menu, wireless on/off, mousepad enable/disable, and the left side play button play, stop etc. also how do i get the intel wireless configuration to run instead of windows, as I am somehow getting good signal, but the router is next to the notebook, typically before i used to get excellent. -
this happened to me on my first install. It may have to do with the order you install the drivers, or what drivers you installed. Make sure you've installed ATK0100, ATKOSD, ATKMedia, etc. I finally got mine to work by installing as many drivers as possible BEFORE ATK, and then doing all the ATK's at once. Other people have reported similar order-pertinent fixes to this issue as well.
-
so am i suppose to uninstall the drivers and reinstall again =S
-
i got the hotkeys working =) and the power management using power4gear xtreme. works great. thank you to all members, that helped.
the only problem i have for now is that i don't like to have bluetooth on. but i turn it off, and when i resart again it appears on. -
I've noticed that as well. I have only been bothering to turn it off if i'm on battery, otherwise I just leave it alone
-
I get this problem as well, I just disabled it from Startup. Problem solved.
-
could you help me determine if the process is required to run vista flawlessly:
Adobe Gamma
ATK MEdia
CCC
StartCCC
Windows Defender -
I can't seem to find the Vista drivers, I followed what you said, and still no vista drivers, just XP. Can anyone provide a link?
-
What's the full path of Adobe Gamma? I don't have it on my W3J, but from what I know, it has to do with the Color management on the Screen. Do you have any Adobe programs installed?
ATK Media you'll need for the side buttons (CD Player buttons)
CCC, Start CCC is for the ATI Control panel
Windows Defender is a MS Anti-Spyware program
Check out the Vista 32/64 thread; on the first post, they have all the drivers I'm using now. They're not all W3J specific, but they all work great. -
Kill Adobe Gamma, it's cr_p from the Adobe Reader. Keep the rest.
