I've been playing bf2 quite a bit with my w3j, and I'm suprised how well it plays with the stock 1gb of ram. My only complaint is I'm getting the typical intergrated sound gremlin, ie cracks and pops.

Also I can't seem to use teamspeak while running bf2, it'll run but my voice doesn't go through, just static.

The sound is pure while playing music, and dvd's. It's just games that it has a problem with, and I've fiddled with all the audio setting in bf2.

Also I believe I have the latest sound driver. I'm curious, am I stuck with somewhat crappy sound, or is there a fix?

I can live with the pops and cracks, but it kinda sucks I can't use teamspeak.

On a side note, I hope Creative releases an X-Fi sound card for the express slot.

I really liked the one I had in my desktop. :)

yeh, i wanna gonna say that too, also there are USB solutions too, like turtle beach USB sound card...other than that your stuck with that.

Ok try this, no BF2 and just TS on it own.. does that work perfectly? You should also download Ventrilo and see if that works too.

The run BF2 after TS or Vent or both are running and see what happens.

Also use the push to talk button...you may already have that set.
If your using the Laptop speakers and mic, i suggest trying a headset, or a seperate mic.

You can purchase a cheap headset and see if that works, then return it, and then buy like a more expensive and higher quality one that will make ur gaming experiance a lot better.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

Yeah TS works fine on its own, just doesn't while running a game, and I use a headset and push to talk. :(

Oh well, I can live with it for now. I'm sure there will be some sort of sound card that's compatible with the express slot in the not to distant future(crosses fingers).

Heh, I emailed Creative to see if they have anything in the works, since just about every new laptop has express instead of the old PCMCIA...they emailed back, "we have nothing that will work for you, just buy an external soundblaster live"...uhh, no thanks.

Thanks for the reply anyways Mystic.. :)
