I recently installed quake 4 on my W3J. It was playing awesome until I was into the second section where you are outside the air plane hangars. I have 1280 x 768 set as my resolution, high quality, with everything turned on except AA. After about 20 minutes of play, I am getting some crazy artifacts with the screen turning orange and things disapearing.

Should I send my laptop into Asus, or is this because I am trying to play Quake 4 on such high settings? If someone else has a W3J and Quake 4, could you try these settings and let me know if you get any artifacts?

    Thanks,

    Sean

Did you by any chance overclock your X1600?

definitely sounds like an overheating issue.

maybe you should try omega drives instead of original ati drivers. i used to play quake 4 with no problems but it was loading very slowly.
