what can i do to get 4 hours of battery life with my W3J?

and don't say to use battery-saving profile from power4gear.

is it ok if i use both the regular battery and the extended docked battery at the same time??

Yes! I could tell you more if I knew more about your setup.

I used to get 4 hours with my w3j.....with battery saving mode in power4gear. I also had to dim the screen, turn off BT, and turn off wireless. I think my battery was draining like 18 watts or something (not sure if that works out with the math considering the battery cells). Nevertheless I'm pretty sure 4 hours was feasible if I was only doing some light computing. I didn't have the extended battery either. I think there have been some problems actually with using the extended and regular battery at the same time but you should be looking at around 5 hours for normal computing.
