i just recently noticed that the latest bluetooth drivers for the W3J (both xp and vista) enable bluetooth right at startup. it now always has me reaching to turn off bluetooth right when i log on to both OSes. is there a way to start up without having bluetooth turned on all the time? or does it have something to do with the current drivers. i remember i didn't have this problem before i reformatted and dual booted xp and vista.

Mine stays off when I turn my machine on. I have the Wireless Console 2 running along with the Bluetooth manager if that gives you any help. I think at least one of those programs needs to be running in order to keep the Bluetooth off upon start up.

The way to turn it off at start up is to use the fn + f2 and turn off bluetooth that way. Then it will not start up when you load your OS. If you use the button on the side to turn it off, it will still load at the start of your OS.

So select both, turn them off. Then only turn on the wifi using the fn + f2. It works for me.

Press Fn + F2 several times until you get the option WiFi on and Bluetooth off. But make sure that you install complete set of ATK drivers for Vista.
