    W3J ethernet port not functioning

    mine just died recently..apparently sometime between now and the last time i used it..i just noticed today because I went to connect directly to the router and when the cable was connected nothing happened..i checked to make sure it was not the cable and that indeed the ports were functioning..any ideas?

    Please try to do the following steps:
    1) go to Start manual
    2) run and type cmd for command prompt
    3) type "ping 127.0.0.1"
    If it give you message as 4 line of "Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128", your ethernet port should be no any problem.
    After that, please check your Ethernet driver is installed or not, or working properly, or not, try to install the driver.
    Another step is to unplug the power your router and let it renew the IP address and click the "2computer icon" on the task bar on the right hand side of bottom, then right click the mouse button and choose "repair".

    Well, i don't know about correcting the problem with a w3j, but the same thing just happened last week to my sister's dell and they have to replace the motherboard since it is a hardware problem.
