I'm a student in Australia, and currently looking to buy a W3J..
I've wanted to check it out in person for some time, but it has still not hit the street here in Australia (Melbourne).

I was wondering if there are any Aussies out here that have purchased the W3J .. either imported or on the street?
What was the cost price and specs u received?

Its quite annoying as the A8J has been out in Australia for quite a long time, but still no sign of the W3J.

Thanks for any feedback in advance.

mmm thats surprising, but then not uncommon, Oz has both the white and black w7s, they also got the w3n which the states didnt get. I guess ASUS has its reasons. You could try contacting synnex they are one of the few import/destributors of ASUS in Australia and they may have a eta on the W3J.

Update: found the W3J at surpass in brisbane QLD...so maybe all you need is to spend a bit of time on google looking for a local reseller.

    Thanks for the reply,

I have googled around, didnt find much in my area though, maybe I will have another look..

I'm not sure about ordering it in with a down payment or importing thought, I would prefer to buy it from a retailer that has it in stock. That way I can actually have a look at the screen - check for dead pixels.. and play with it a little before i buy.. I havent seen one in person yet.. so im dying to lol

Hopefully it will make its way into retail stores soon.

Before I left Oz, some larger chain stores (eg harvey norman) were stocking selected ASUS notebooks, maybe worth a look in some of those, also if you can find an older w3n they are very similar so that could give you an idea bout looks
