Hey I found the page with all the drivers etc for my w3j since i upgraded to vista 64 but they dont work when I install them. I really need the onboard speakers to work but they wont.

In the thread it says i may need to flash my bios...is that correct? If it is...can someone please lead me to a step by step on how to do that...and where to get the new bios update?

I am worried i will mess things up worse if i dont have a detailed guide.

    Thanks!

You should be worried; a BIOS flash is a risky operation that can turn your useful laptop into a paperweight. Can you show us the thread you're talking about? Although a BIOS flash may be the solution, we really, really want to make sure its the best one. ;)

No, W3J uses a SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio.

Ugh, SoundMAX... pretty shotty at finding drivers for those cards for some reason. I'll see if I have any luck

Also, for the BIOS update guide, it's quite safe if you do it properly. A look at the Info Booth might have sufficed, but you will find the guide in my signature.
