I just noticed my 3 month W3J screen to have a slight problem. comparing the left side and the right side of the screen, the right side seems to be brighter. it almost seems like the light source for the LCD is only active that side or something.

does this warrant for a repair from the asus center?

ps.bought this in hong kong but i live in the US. however i will go back to hk this xmas.

I'm pretty sure that the W3j only has a single backlite, on the R side. You can see a differrence in brightness between L-R, but I've only come across this on the lowest possible brightness setting, and this would be normal since the wattage to the light is so minimal that there isn't enough to evenly distribute across the screen.

If you're at higher settings and the issue is still there, then you might want to have Asus look at it.

you could try talking to asus and see if they will fix it..however like clear skies stated it should only be apparent at the lowest setting..it shouldn't be noticeable as soon as you take it 1 step above the lowest brightness level
