I know this has probally been asked 10000x but here it is again:

    A8Js - 2.0Ghz
    W3J - 2.0Ghz

    Almost identicle performance.

Price is not far off for me (getting good deals) so that does not make a huge difference in my decision

I am trying to decide, which I should purchase. I do not do any real gamming but I love the looks of the W3J

    - I have never used a webcam, but might if it was built in (A8)
    - I can always buy a webcam later, except it wont be sleak and built in
    - I love the looks of the W3J (black, brush metal, etc)
    - W3J has 20GB less HDD

My primary use for this machine will be school work, downloading videos/music/movies....maybe some light photoshop work (for fun)

I am not sure which will show text more clear and bigger. I do not need/wear glasses but do not want to squint.(in reference to resoloution)

Any thoughts, tips, suggestions, questions would be great. I need to get my order in sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I would personally prefer the W3j because of the looks/build, and I wouldn't use the webcam, and as you said you could always buy one if you wanted. Hard drive doesn't factor in for me personally, because i have 3 spares sitting around, and they are coming down in price anyway, so slap one in the multibay. But, ultimately you have to decide what you like best personally, you are the one that knows, its hard for us to help you.

Looks wise I prefer the W3J but I am asking what is a better machine...I do not know a ton about these things and hoping for answers. Price does not really matter

What have people had less issues with? Better quality, etc

Based on what I have read, a lot were saying W3J is not worth price diff. of around 400-500 but the price diff. for me is $150 and I really like the W3J. Same power/speed, etc...so I think I am going to go with the W3J

The Nvidia 7700 512MB video card is another step faster than the X1600 256MB in the W3j. It's around 10-20% faster. The A8js is an excellent value, for the specs that you get. But if your one who likes a very well built notebook, the W3j is for you. As for what’s going for the A8js - price, better cpu, better video card, larger HD, webcam, and 5 USB ports. Keep in mind the W3j gets slightly better battery life and also has the option for a modular bay, so you can add another hard drive, or a second battery. Some resellers offer the W3j for ~$1700. And most sell the A8js for ~$1500-$1600. So the W3j is really only about $100-200 more depending on where you buy it from.

Eddie has some awesome deals on w3j's right now. He even has a few that are upgraded to carry a T7200 for less then retail ($1698 I think). Pretty good if you ask me.

I'll be buying the w3j pretty soon too. The reason: build quality and looks nicer.

I just bought my W3J from Eddie at btotech.com. Look there first for either model, his deals are awesome and the phone/online support is excellent.

EDIT: I chose the W3J mostly because of design/build quality and size/battery life, since I have previously lugged a P4 Dell beheamoth to class and it was like carrying around a slab of granite coated in ugly black plastic that ran out of juice after 1:15. Also, I figured that the performance diff isn't something I'm ever likely to notice, as I mostly use my xbox360 for gaming (other than WOW) and I'll still use Macs for InDesign regardless of whether I own the W3J or A8Js.
