Hey everybody, i recently ordered my W3J from powerbooks.net and it should be arriving very soon.. but I'm still wondering on what i should do to it when it comes as far as steps in changing FAT32 to NTFS and what partitions i should have. I don't have my own copy of XP pro so i couldnt do a clean install but from what i've heard of asus doesnt put too much junk on and i wont really care anyways. Anyways I was just hoping to figure out what i should do and when i should do it haha. Thanks again, SL

EDIT: It's here!!!! So sexy... haha. I'm on it now and its awesome so far. My internet does seem to be a little slow... is 11mbps normal for a home cable wireless network? Anyways still wondering what my first steps should be.. i dont want to touch it too much before I change a bunch of stuff if i should. Thanks again, SL.

Congrats on the W3j, Got mine on thursday, REALLY like it so far... any dead pixels?

about setup, the first thing i did was uninstall the norton on there, then i updated all the windows patches, then I downloaded the new bios from asus.com, installed it using winflash, then I didnt bother yet with switching to NTFS but i probably will this weekend, look around though, i hear you have to do something with a program to switch cluster sizes BEFORE you convert...finally if you want to put on the omega drivers, but i didnt bother, i will see how gaming goes, if i have a problem, then i will address it.

11ms does seem slow BTW i hooked up to my wireless net @ 56 mbps.... but cabled can be weird...

otherwise let me know how it works, and enjoy

No way, this beaut is mines ;)

I don't think I'll ever get it replaced for the next 5~ years ;)

But, uninstall Norton = key. It's a memory hog, and uninstalling does the trick, though, if you want, you can do a full registry uninstall to get every last bit out, though its not usually needed.
