I am using a VGA cable to connect my laptop to a ultra sharp 2407-HC and my computer is set to 1920x1200 but the monitor says im at 1600x1200, and has 1920x1200 image at a 1600x1200 resolution (have to scroll to see whole image). Its a ASUS W3J+ and its fairly new and the video card is a ATI x1600. Any suggestion to make display the full 1920x1600 with out the side bars.

Have you set it up correctly? That is, do you have the latest drivers, and are you congifuring the properties correctly? I have hooked my W3J to 2407 without any problems... displays the whole thing!

I think it might be a driver issue. I'm not sure what driver version I have. Here is a picture of the info it gives me in catalyst control. [IMG]

I have the ATI Omaga drivers and the max resolution goes up to 2560x1600 I have also hooked up to a 61'' NEC plasma display, it was actually the NEC display that could not handle a resolution over 1600x1200.

From the sounds of things it may be a limitation of your screen, its like you can set the screen res on the W3J higher than 1280x768 but it creates a virtual screen larger than the physical extents of your monitor, that you have to scroll accross to read areas behind not visible on the screen.

I would check the max res that your screen would accept, it sounds liek yours is doing the same.

the 2407-hc can handle a resolution of 1920x1200 and my laptop lcd can go up to 1920x1200 but you have to scroll around. Is there a way to be able to display the full 1920x1200 with out being stuck in 1600x1200 on my external monitor, Because I set my laptop lcd to 1600x1200 and I still have to scroll around to see everything. How would 1920x1200 be any different?
