Another problem with my newly acquired W3J-the volume keys (Fn+F10-12) won't work. The other Fn+F## combinations do work-just not the volume keys. And they did work a while ago... Also, I'm getting a "Send error report" message for something called HControl. Is that related?

Certainly related. HControl is the software that controls the function keys. I'm unsure now what of the drivers CD you need to reinstall, but it's there :)

The Asus driver CD has Hcontrol on it. Reinstall and everything controlled by it (including the buttons on the left and right of the keyboard) should go back to their original state.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the ATK0100 drivers, only for the problem to repeat itself-the instant I try using the volume up/down controls, HControl crashes.

I also tried disabling all the software I installed since HControl worked properly, to no avail.

Can you think of any way but Recovering (capital R!) my system? I'd hate installing all my utility software again... :(

An update- I've tried downloading the new drivers from ASUS' website, but they didn't help. However, when I replaced my HControl with the file from http://power4gear.bk-kicks.com/hcontrol.htm I gained partial functionality-Some Fn/Quick launch keys work, while others (for example, the Splendid mode switcher) don't. The non-default programs I have running currently are Sygate firewall and NOD32 antivirus...

Hey, are you sure it's not the firewall? AFAIK there's similar behavior in W3J due to SpySweeper not allowing hcontrol.exe to function properly.
