    Hi

Does anyone know a way to control the fan on the W3J? I tried Speedfan but it doesnt work. It doesnt show fan control options.

Speedfan doesn't detect the motherboard of the W3; no other options are out there that anyone has posted here.

The fan is set and controlled by the BIOS, and is not end-user accessible. You have to learn to live with the fan speed and temp settings, unfortunately .

man even lg's lappy's have fan control..dell has i8kfangui..strange that asus hasn't released anything yet..simple settings like cool..average..and quiet would be good (fan settings would be high-medium-low with an option to set it to a temperature or just to keep it on)

you know.. i do wish asus had a fan control thing. and also a nice docking station like the hp expansion base. come on asus do somethin about it!!! =P

arthur: might wanna try getting a laptop cooling base .... also undervolting helps a bit (although not at the lowest multipliers since Yonah is locked at 0.95v, but the higher multipliers can be lowered by quite a bit, and reduce heat there)

well.. i am actually lookin for a notebook cooler. i was thinkin the vantec 3 or titan one. as for undervolting, it kinda sounds... tweakish. what i mean is.. its kinda new to me. not on a desktop. i fool around my desktop a lot.. but whne i see my notebook it just seems its so fragile u know?

Arthur: Undervolting has no real disadvantages (haven't heard of any "accidents" involving undervolting - overvolting yes, but not undervolting, just have to do it right and run some extensive tests.), but again , your choice, hopefully the notebook cooler will help...

The Delete key, not backspace. F2 might even work.
