I was just doing regular stuff with AC adaptor plugged in, battery was fully charged... then everything froze. My iTunes song just kept repeating the part where the notebook froze, and mouse wasn't moving. I unplugged the AC adaptor, and everything kicked back into gear.

    Weird!

    System hiccup?

It happens to me every once in a while, especially if I'm doing too many things at once, so I alt+Tab, and everything repeats in a 1-2 sec interval, then it goes back to normal.

Most likely just a system hiccup... computers are weird animals :)

Although XP Pro is pretty darn stable at this point.... it happens. Blame it on a system hiccup, but really, if it happens again try to notice what programs are running.... it's more likely that there may be an issue with something you added to the system that may have corrupted a driver or something.. Either way, nothing big, but try to keep an eye out.

There are many ways I personaly go about dealing with a system hiccup.

If my system hangs, i usualy spam ctrl + alt + del a few times, this does not cause my system to reboot.

I also use windows + D, to test whether system is responsive during a hiccup.

Use alt + tab to help get through the hiccup if everything else doesn't work.

If you have an external mouse, like a Logitech MX510 or MX518 mouse, you have a Application button on it, and you can press that to help get through the hiccup.

If you are running iTunes version 7 then it could be why your laptop hung. That version is the buggiest release of iTunes that I've ever used -it's the "Netscape 4.7" of media players. Apple should be releasing a patch soon...
