my asus is just over a year old and now there is an horrible issue with the heat
just after 15 minutes turned on, the fan can go up to 3000 RPM and after 1 hour it reaches 3600 RPM, CPU temparature sometimes exceed 66C/152F
does anyone have an idea how to sort this out?

It is SUPOSED to exceed 66C. 66C is idle temp. Average full load is about 80C. Nothing wrong with it. If you want to change your fan speeds.
    1. Update bios sometimes that solves it
    2. Remove the fan modding utility you are using as that is causing you quite a bit of anxiety. DO not monitor your fans or your temps if you have not read up on normal temps and fan speeds.

66C is a very high idle temperature. Is this a W3N thing?

My A8J's idle temperature is 42C.

heovang85, try blowing your air vents with compressed air. You can also open up the back panel of your notebook and clean your heatsink with a q-tip. It helped a lot with my old Toshiba. If the problem persists, buy a cooling pad. They're very cheap these days.

An addition to what Eddie mentioned, you also stated you have had the laptop for 1 year. Meaning there could be a major build up of lint, hair and dust in the vents and cpu compartment.

Use a can of compressed air to blow out the vents. This should help with the fans from working to hard.

But as Eddie mentioned the Idle temperature should be 55-65 degrees celcius and under load it should be a max of 80 or so.

He is not talking about the a8. He is talking about the w3 which has an avg temp of 60 Give or take depending on the environmentals
