Ok it's been a week since I got my W3V and today I decided to give the LCD cover a quit hand wipe to get the tiny dust off.. and to my surprise I felt a light scratch.
It's not noticeable as it blends in with the brushed carbon fiber, but its there.
As I moved my hand across the rest of the cover I came across two more scratches (again unnoticeable) I overlooked all three and they are identical in length and the surface depth.
They are in a perfect line as well, about an inch from the sides, about half an inch long and 2 inces apart.
You can barely see them, but they are there and I do not remember ever mis-handling my w3v...
Could this be a design flaw.. anyone else have this?

... first, if you have a W3v, the lcd cover is a black anodized brushed aluminum.... unless you scratched it with a knife, you're not going to notice..... that's what that finish is on there for.... but "brushed" means that it is scratched, that's actually how they make the finish before they anodize it. If you scratched it, at most you scratched the anodizing, but if it's deep you would have taken that off before physically getting into the aluminum.
I'm not sure what you're looking for, but if you managed to scratch that lid, you would have remembered it............. but if you don't, and you can barely notice them...... how do you know they're there? I'm only asking this in the context of the finish of the lid which is essentially a scratched finish to begin with. -
Well first.. yes I do have a W3V.. I purchased it a week ago from Newegg, as they had the best deal and shipping was cheap and my notebook was delivered in two days with regular FedEx shipping. It was retail, packaged and sealed.. so Newegg is not to blame for these scratches and neither am I, as I DID NOT scratch the lid.
If you lightly run your fingers across the lid all is smooth until you come across a light surface scratch.. it is noticeable by feel and you can see them with the LCD on an angle. -

... I didn't ask nor do I care when you got, where you got it, or how it was packaged. I'm simply stating a fact based on a system that I used everyday for 3/4 of the year. Instead of *****ing and moaning, try to take a picture of it because your explaination is sub par and knowing the lid, the material, and the finishing process..... the last thing in the word that you're going to get from a light dusting are visible scratches. My comment on how you'd get them doesn't mean that is how it happened and that you must have done it...... I'm simply saying that is basically the only way anyone would have scratched it and if you didn't do that. Without being able to see what you're seeing, neither I nor anyone else could tell you if it's supposed to be there or not or really come up with other ways it could have happened.

This is a PERFECT reason why I decided to not order from you!
You say you didn't ask if I had one.. then what is with the comment "first, if you have a W3v".
I asked a simple question and you come off defensive like an a$$hole.
I asked if maybe a light scratch or two was a common manufacturing defect on the brushed panel.
It's either a yes or no answer, and you obviously cannot comprehend one or the other. -
Sorry guys... this thread is not getting anywhere.
