Been a long long time since I posted here. But I have a problem on my W3V that recently surfaced and I'm completely dumbfounded on how to solve it.
Whenever I play a game, or render something in 3D the graphic shakes between a blurryness, and normal. It's quite hard for me to explain this so I attached an image below of how it blurs.
I've tried so many things to try and fix the problem: Different display drivers, using an external monitor, etc. but the problem still persists. I've also been unable to find any information on this issue.
If anyone has an idea of what I should try to fix it, I'd appreciate it.

are you getting the problem on an exterior monitor as well? If so, it could be the drivers or the gpu itself.. if you're not getting it on that monitor, it's something up with the screen itself and it could be as simply as some sort of electrical interference.
-
It's definitely not the display as the problem persists when using an external monitor. I've tried different drivers, Omega drivers, older ATI drivers, recent ATI drivers, and still nada.
The next thing I'm wanting to try is restoring it to factory defaults after backing up my data. What was the button at startup you press to do that? -

I'd suggest that, to help rule out software.. if it persists, I'd give Asus a call.... F9

Well after restoring to defaults the problem is still there. I'm wanting to contact Asus but looking at the bottom of my notebook the serial number is almost completely worn off and I know they'll want to know the SN number.
Am I screwed? =/ -
Dunno about the SN but hopefully your warranty is still in effect...
-
Ah nevermind. I registered my W3V through their VIP site and had my SN on there. Warranty should still be in effect I believe. I've had the notebook for about 9 months.
-
Hrmm. Looks like a videocard problem to me and not the screen. It could be a bad driver installation. Since you've tried many drivers it's probably a videocard problem or like Justin said an interference problem, but I doubt that.
Videocard problem seems right.
Give'em a call. -
You also have a SN tag on your battery.
Jw -
The SN tag on your battery is for your battery not the notebook.

Oh wow, that's good to know. My sticker is peeling off because I had parts replaced and the Asus guys in Toronto peeled it off and tried to put it back on the new base without much luck.
-
mmm... think its the same number. Check it.
-
Yeah, the S/N number of the laptop and battery are the same.
