Hey guys, do any of you have problems with the brick on your AC adapter for your W3V. My AC adapter brink becomes ridiculously hot after like an hour or two. It is almost like burning hot. Is this normal? Does anyone else have problems with an extremely hot AC adapter? Thanks

I haven't felt an AC adapter whose transformer (the brick) doesn't get *HOT* after say doing a full charge or running a system strictly off the AC (once you're plugged in the battery will trickle charge if you're on and then stop when it's done and just use AC power until you unplug it. It's normal. It's also one of the reasons AC adapters are only ever warrantied for a year. They take more abuse and have a greater rate of failure than any computer itself every could.

My advice...... if it starts to melt your carpet, get a new one. Usually at that point it'll die anyway, but we're not talking about 2nd or 3rd degree burns here....... they run hot. If you want to see *HOT* though... a 17" HP power brick..... they are so big they have dual fans in them just to keep them from burning themselves up.

if you think that the w3 ac gets burning hot try touching and holding a z80k adaptor after a few hours. W3v ac does get steamy but its failry normal
