I'm experiencing some issues with the Synaptics touchpad. Basically, it seems like it's dropping out on me during use, almost like an old rollerball mouse that's all gunked up and skipping... and it's not registering taps with my finger all the time. I've tried adjusting the settings to see if that helps, but so far the problem hasn't improved.

Granted, I use an external mouse most of the time, but it's kind of annoying when I'm away from my desk with it. I didn't have these issues with the Z71V touchpad, which was a Synaptics pad as well.

When I first tried the touchpad, I had to press fairly firmly on it for it to work at all. I set the sensitivity to maximum, and now it works fine. (control panel > mouse > device settings > sensitivity) Hopefully that's all it is

I haven't messed with the settings, and I haven't experienced any problems.

Ok, I think I have it licked... I was a little confused with the settings, but they're making a difference now. Of course, now I'm gonna have to screw with them every time I reboot the system, which blows.

Mine is default and it works fine. The default sensitivity is kind of low, so I have to do about 2 swipes across to get from side to side. It would be perfect if I upped the sensitivity by one notch, but that'd screw up my MX500 so I left it alone.

I notice my mouse cursor keeps disappearing, and I have to move it around for 5-7 seconds before it reappears, very annoying. Happens with both touchpad and external mouse.
