    Hi

Has anybody used the VGA OUT on their W3V and got a screen resolution higher than 1024x768?

I'm trying to run 1280x1024 and it does'nt seem to work. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Jay

The ATI x600 supports a lot of resolutions, up to 2048 x 1536...

What screen are you attaching the laptop to?Could it be something in your ATI graphics setup that you can change?

I've checked the video card properties and clicked on all of the tabs to see if I can adjust the output resolution from there. I cant seem to find anything that helps.

My monitor is an old 19" CTX with great picture. It runs smooth at 1280x1024 85hz. I can run it at higher resolutions no problem paired with an ATI 9800AIW.

I've just received my W3 today (beutiful macine!!!). I don't have my external monitor yet, but I was checking out external monitor resolutions, and I have 1280x1024 there, that jay55 doesn't seam to find, but I can't find 1680x1050 enywhere (that's the resolution of Dell 2005FPW that I have on order) which I find strange, as I've seen pictures posted by someone on this forum runing the sam dell LCD, and I think it's a popular resolution? Hope I'm just missing someting. The listed resolutioons go like this:
    ...
    1280x1024
    1600x1200
    1792x1344
    ...
Maybe I have old x600 drivers preinstalled on my w3?

1680 x 1050 is WSXGA+ ..... the "+" isn't really a normal res for a desktop monitor (although we have it on most of our 15.4" notebooks), but none the less, no it's not there.

Desktop screens are usually WXGA or UXGA ... for some reason Dell made a 20.1" widescreen with that res though. There might be some sort of driver fix that could take care of that... I don't know.

I don't know if I've seen anyone else post pictures of their widescreen desktop monitor hooked up to their W3... besides myself... I've got a Sony SDM-P234/B 23" widescreen and tha's 1920 x 1200...

    Thanks,
    Justin

Actualy eightone posted it in this thread:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16343&whichpage=2
but now that I read it again he doesn't mention conecting it to W3, so he might have just posted side by side pictures.

Eightone if you are reding this, I would really apriciate if you could clerify this.

Hmm, maybe I should cancel my LCD order...
