I got my W3V in the beginning of August and since then the only problem I have been having is with the video card. It has been working great, but then at around mid-September it keep on freezing at random moments, no matter how long it has been on. I figured out that problem, I was undervolting it too much, so I just upped the voltage, and it worked great. But then, last month, at the end of October, I unplugged my W3V and went to my study lounge and the screen went crazy, everything was all pixelated. It looked like a notebook I seen on the Sony forum:

I ram back to my room with my W3V to figure out what the problem was. I plugged it back in a viola, the problem was gone, then I unplugged it, it came back. I figured that I was undervolting the video card too much, so I again upped the voltage, the problem disappeared.
But recently, as few days ago, I got this other problem. Sometimes, if I would go from battery power to AC power with the battery in, it would revert the display to 800X600 resolution, the only way to solve it was to restart. That happened about 2 weeks ago. I went and reinstalled the Omega Drivers I was using and the problem I thought was gone. But, then a few minutes ago, when I received my AC adapter from home, I plugged it in, it did the same thing, but it said my drivers were corrupted. I have seen this dialog box before on someone else's computer and that meant for that computer that the video card was dying and the whole motherboard was replaced because it was integrated into the motherboard.
I fear that this problem will arise itself again and I am not sure of what to do. I know that CHC underclocks both the video card and processor when under battery power. If it isn't CHC, then what could it be. Should I send it in for repairs to ASUS or what? I need my notebook to be running properly as finals are fast approaching and I don't want it to die on my at the worse possible moment, e.g. when I'm writing a paper or when I'm writing a program.
If anyone could help, I will be highly appreciative. If it the video card, then I regret getting the W3V because that was my overriding decision to buy this over any other notebook, mainly the W3A/Z63A, as it is the only thing that has given me any real problems. But I do love this thing, someone would have to pry it from my dead hands to get it away from me.

Ummm...The problem just came back. Does any know anything about it? There has got to be someone with the same problem or at least has one suggestion for me. Anything? Someone, please help.

what happens if you don't use CHC?

Yeap best thing to do is go back to stock drivers and orginal config. There is a reason why ASUS supplies these with the notebook, thats because there the only ones that have been fully tested with that hardware. Although CHC should work it doesnt mean it always will, why you ask...because every gpu&cpu arent equal, no matter what notebook model it is, some chips cope with under/over volting much better than others, just depends how well they were fabbed. Its quite possible that your gpu doesnt like being undervolted. If going back to stock or a complete re-install of XP doesnt fix your issues then I would put your lappie in for a m/b replacement. Im not sure why this is a bad thing though, would much rather be without the notebook for a week or so during warranty, then to limp thru the next 2-3 years on a disabled lappie.
