Does the Asus W3V come in black? I'm sure i have seen it in black but all the reviews i have seen show it in silver.

I also heard that only the top of the range one comes in black,

not sure how true this is, just wanted to clear it up.

some website kinda show it in back but the pictures are usually very small so its hard so see what the finish is like.

    Thanks
    B

I think its just the way the pictures were taken.

It only comes in the aluminum lid, which may look dark in some pictures.

It's a grayish color- like a graphite, dark, but not black. The pics on the site have a lot of bursts or hot spots from the flash/backlight, but I assure you, it's not black and not silver. Well the lid has aluminum on it and can shine or reflect when carried.

The W3V is pure black, all around it, the keyboard, touchpad, the whole laptop is pure black.

The first three computers in the list are W3As and only the last is a W3V. The lid of the W3A is a grey-silver (I've got one).

Do you mean the "s" on the end of the W3A in my post: W3As = plural of W3A.

They are the same except for some colour differences and W3A has Intel integrated graphics and a carbon fibre display backbut W3V has dedicated ATI X600 GPU, integrated Bluetooth and a metal display back.

If you are not a gamer then the W3A (also known as the Z63A) is more cost effective.

the actual color is definitely lighter than in the pictures. It is a dark gray, but nonetheless looks better than almost any other laptop you see around (especially at my school, where everyone owns a boring Dell).

Well the lid on the notebook is an actual piece of black anodized brushed aluminum.... that is "black" in the way aluminum looks when it's anodized that color....... the chassis itself is more of a charcoal grey on the palmrest and the bezel, with the bottom being black.

I just saw a W3V today at school for the first time... I was very impressed. You haven't seen the W3V until you've seen it in real life. I own a W3A/Z63a... and I still have W3V envy
    Haha...

Yea, the W3v is an amazing unit. It's so well rounded, besides the Samsung x50 and W2v, the W3v is tied with the V6v as my favourites :D
