My w3v's dvd drive makes a very loud vibrating sound when playing a cd or dvd. I can push on the outside of the door and it stops the noise. Is this common from the hot swappable feature for the door of the drive to be loose?

    Hi:
The DVD drive on my W3V is quite loud as well (the disc whirring, etc). But it doesn't really vibrate like something is loose.

Hmm... I was just thinking about this last night as I was installing a program (probably running at max speed). I don't think it's loud, though, when just playing a CD/DVD or a game.

I understand exactly the noise you're referrencing, as my girlfriend's old Inspiron notebook produces the exact same sound. On her notebook, I think its an issue of the hot-swappable drive not fitting as snugly as possible, and leaving room for some vibration noise. If you even lightly touch the bay, it immediately drops down to a whisper.

i realize an audio is too much to ask for but the slim drives are loud inherently. Tho i have seen a fair share of louder then normal drives they are usually broken or breaking down. if your drive is working as it should then,,,,,,, well you know
