Which screen is better for looking at for long periods of time?
I'm down to these two choices and I do quite a bit of design/software engineering, so my eyes will be glued to the screen for many times on end.
I've never owned a laptop in the past, but I have used both the matte and glossy.
Those who have used the W3V and z70va screens, which do you prefer for my situation? and why?
edit: W3V with 1.86 pm x600 64mb 128mb+ or z70va 2.0 pm x700 128mb (ahhh quake 4)
Thanks.

I used a W1n (same screen as the z70va) for about 8 months...... I've used my W3v non-stop since April....... the 15.4" WSXGA+ screen in the Z70va is going to be the best matte type 15.4" display you're going to find. However, with that said I love to use my w3v for everything I've always done...... autocad, 3ds max, maya, premier, photoshop.... gaming... dvd watching... email.. internet.... Both systems are a good balance, but the W3 is certainly centered more on the smaller form factor - which is more portable --- yet with all the high end goodies....
The Z70va is bigger and heavier, but for a 15.4" notebook... you're not going to find anything that's really smaller or better. You can't miss with either, but for your situation the Z70va *may* be a better choice, but keep in mind what I do and that I prefer the size of the W3. I think you can wrap it all up in screen size........ the graphics probably should be a secondary consideration..... you're not giving up much to go with the W3 and there's still no 14" widescreens that can match it's performance...
.... agian, I don't think you can go wrong and from here it's all personal preference. -
thanks for the reply...
Before I liked the v6v, but the fact that it has no s-video out turned me off..
so as of now I'll just look into either the w3 (glossy, nice, but glare) or z70va (not as nice as w3, but no glare) and make a decision from there. -

.... how often do you think you'll really use s-video? There's no s-video because it's so thin! And better yet, if you want better video output to a tv..... ati makes a nice rgb to component video connector and that'll give you better video than s-video. If you like the V6, still consider it. S-video is the least your worries when you seem to maybe have more over the other units...... The W3 is still my pick, although you really have thrown in another one that you can't go wrong with.

decisions.. decisions..
I will be making my final decision very soon.
It's just very hard to spend so much for something I have never used, or better yet, seen in person.
p.s. justin, send me a demo unit of the v6, or w3, or.. z70va so I can test drive one -
Somebody tell me when there's going to be a W3V refresh! I need better video card for sure, maybe a 256MB x1800 mobility, super sexay.
W3V or z70va screen?
