    Booq Vyper XM?

    Shinza Zeroshock 14 inch?

    Are there others?

    Thanks!

I bought a SUMDEX sleeve for about $24 (sold thru lots of sites). It fits snuggly and offers protection from scratches, dings, and small drops. I wouldn't want to throw it against the wall with the laptop in it, but I feel comfortable tossing it in my backpack with a bunch of law books. Just look for the 14 inch sumdex sleeve.

Which SUMDEX? How is it called? Link or dealer?

    Thanks!

I just ordered the Vyper XM after another member on this board raved about its fit with the W3V.

I'll let you know how it fits when I get it in a few days.

Do you like it, and does it fit the W3V well?

I bought the Booq Vyper XM for my P1-MX (W3V) and it is the coolest looking thing I have ever seen - and a perfect fit!! HOWEVER... I was surprised how thin and unpadded it is. It is a sleeve in the sense that it will protect from scratches and "clunks" but I am not trusting it for shock protection (eg., dropping it, or for travel). For travel I bought a Brain Cell from Tom Bihn ( www.tombihn.com), which actually isolates the laptop from contact with the sides of the case and can sustain a fall from 5 feet.

To sum up, I use the Vyper for local, day-to-day use and the Brain Cell for airplane travel. Doug

That is the sleeve I bought. It is a basic sumdex impactguard sleeve. Like I said it's inexpensive but quality. Wouldn't want to drop the laptop with just that protecting it, but it keeps it from being dinged, scratched or dented. For 22 bucks I don't think you can beat it in terms of price. The W3V fits in it perfectly w/ very little room to wiggle. That's all that fits in it though, maybe a a few papers too or a pen. I usually just keep my laptop and some earbud headphones in it. My adapter rides in an outside pocket of my backpack. And the sleeve w/ notebook rides in the backpack with my books.

Isn't there a sleeve without a handle? I'd like a thin & scratch protecting sleeve to slip the W3V in when it's in a bag or backpack.

The VGN-CKS1 for the Vaio-S series is exactly what I want, but for the W3V

    Review of VGN-CKS1 here

Since it's so snug on the 13.3" Vaio-s it's not gonna fit on the W3V.. :(

While I do not yet own a W3V or this particular case, I have heard very good things about these:
    http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm
You can look up your model and they will tell you what size you should get. I plan to use it as some added protection inside my backpack. Based on the testimonials, it appears to be a very durable sleeve.

I just recieved my Booq Vyper XM.

It is a perfect fit width wize, with maybe 1/4 or less of extra space in depth.

It is very nice, and will serve well in protecting from scratches.

I wish there was more padding, as I feel this will do nothing to protect the laptop in case of a short fall, but I guess you can get a Sumdex if that is what you need.

The Sumdex impactguard sleeve does have a handle, but the handle is cloth and easily folds down to fit in backpacks. It is actually convenient to have the handle. Originally I didn't want the handle, but now I find myself carrying it by the handle when my bag is too full of books or if I am just bringing my lappie to a coffee shop or somewhere that I don't need the adapter.

The Booq viper xm does not have a handle and looks like it uses the same material as the VGN-CKS1.

Just received my Elecom Zeroshock sleeve. The "memory foam" is actually REALLY hard. You got to press HARD on it to make a dent. I don't know if its a good thing or bad thing since any trauma will directly transfer to the notebook inside? The "give" of the foam doesn't seem to take effect unless u press really hard.

Anyone else find that ? or is the one I got a knockoff zeroshock since i did get it off ebay...

I got the zeroshock 14". The fit is amazing. Very tight and snug. Plus it gives it great protection with its memory effect. Rather cheap too: shop around a bit and you can get it (like I did) at under $15.

I got a sleeve from sfbags.com. Great fit and Gary was very helpful.
