Has anyone had hands-on experience with these machines side by side? I'm wondering if the difference in size really feels that big? The V6V is 2,5 cm (~1 inch) "longer", but thats about it...

I've searched the net trying to find a picture of the two lined up side by side, but i can't find any, så a picture would be great.

If you can wait, I may be able to get some good pictures of them by Friday/Saturday

The size is very similiar as you mentioned, unless you measure it, only the widescreen -> 4:3 is obvious as a change

The size if very similar. But if you hold the V6, it feels a lot slimmer- while the W3 feels a little bit thicker (not much), but smaller. Weight-wise, I don't feel much a difference. I think your deciding factor should be the screen format and then the body.

can't wait Coriolis, it'd be interesting to see how they compare..especially since the v6's lcd hinge is in the rear while the w3 is on top.

I'm planning to buy in january, so take your time to get some fine pics :)

Actually widescreen or 4:3 doesn't matter, though the SXGA resolution would improve the workspace... i just don't know whether the extra 250 pixels in height wil make much difference!

V6V is a 4:3 screen and the resolution is the same as M6Ne, i believe that some people still like that screen even it is not a wide screen. I like the casing as similar as W3V.

I was able to get a feel for both from Justin @ ProPortable, I'm lucky to live about 20 minutes from him so it wasn't a problem. For my needs the W3V fit my needs. The two models are very close in size but I went with the W3. It just felt better and it was actually a better buy with the components it had. I had this unit since the summer, July I believe, and it still rocks. If you can try to get a hands on if possible.

    Vals,

Not to make you feel bad or anything, but at some point if you want to take a look at the V6va - not only did it fix/upgrade the couple thing that made you like the W3v....... but they also pumped in a 128mb x700...... It's my new favorite at the moment.
