Ok, this should be a relatively easy question. I'm buying a W3V, and I want to output a 1680x1050 resolution to an external monitor. Are there any drivers that do this? If so, which ones, where do I get them, and are they easy to install and manage?

    Thanks in advance.

Anyone knows if this PowerStrip utility might solve that:

I've read somewhere on the net, that the 1680x1050 resolution might become visible once you actually conect the monito to the laptop?

Just got a mail from a friend who contactet Asus support about this. They told him, they'll test this, and today he recived this answer:

It can support the resolution, when you set the resolution please make sure [to extend windows desktop to external monitor] is choosed.

I still think it would be best if someone could try it somewhere.

Ok, I can now confirm that W3V with x600 does indeed support 1680x1080 resolution for external monitor.
Once you connect the monitor, and select "extend my desktop..." id Display Properties/Settings, you can than go to advaced/ATI display settings, select monitor, and it detects external monitors resolution and refresh rate, which is than also available in Display Properties/Settings.
