Hi
I recently bought myself an Asus W3V, because i needed a faster more versatile laptop. I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase so fare, but one thing is anoying me: the constant running fan.
From the moment i turn on my laptop the fan is running. It's not loud but quite audible and when the CPU heat reaches above 50 C it's get very audible. I get this running applications as Word and Firefox which shouldn't be that CPU heavy and therefore heatgenerating.
:noisyfan:
I read about the heating issues in the reviews on this site and i've read about CHC (or NHC as its now called) which i installed, but that doesnt effect the fan at all.
I also installed the most recent BIOS update and i speculate that the problem might come from this... since i can't remeber being anoyed by the fan a couple of weeks ago. Might be my imagination though.
I hope you can help me out.
/Pete

Try Speed Fan, it can adjust your cpu fan automatically and it should compatible with Asus notebook.

I tried Speed Fan, but that doesnt give access to any manual fan control on my W3V. I also tried underclocking via NHC with the following settings:
6x at 0.732
8x at 0.780
10x at 0.844
12x at 0.940
14x at 1.084
but my temprature newer gets below 48/49 degrees
W3V, constant running fan
