Just starting to take a look at this model, and specs seem to match all my requirements for now.

However, how long as this model been in the market?

I want to get a unit that can last for the next 3-4 years.

Also, noticed that its running the X600 graphics card. Are there any news that a newer model (of the same size, 14" WXGA) might be coming out with the X700?

    Thanks.

So far there are only two 14" with x700 GPU's, a Sony and an Acer, but there hasn't been much info about it so its hard to tell what it will be like.

The W3v has been out for less then 6 months I believe...

Trying to stay away from Acer. lol Did not really like my Ferrari.

The Sony with the X700, would that be the BXs? Those are only available with the X700 end of the year right?

I am just wondering if it would be a better deal long term wise (3-4 years) to get a laptop with a higher-end GPU versus the Asus W3V.

Are there any other Sonys out there that uses the X700?

Yea the Acer 32xx and the SONY BX

It's still early, those two are the only ones so far, perhaps some others will join but only time will tell..
