It would probably run cooler than the W3J since the W3Z uses integrated graphics. The MT-30 will be about on par with the Pentium M in terms of speed (slower than the C2D). It is also a single-cored chip, so it will be slower than the C2D when multi-tasking. For general usage, the chip should be fine.

Comparing the W3Z to the Current W3J or even the Core Duo W3J is not really worth it, since the W3Z has 2 year old generation of technology in it.

Sure it may cost lower, but it isn't even available in North America. Stick with the current W3J offering C2D and the X1600, or wait for the V2.

The performance of the C2D to the Turion, no contest, you will find the C2D to be roughly 4-5 times faster and better overall.

The heat should be less on the W3Z, while the battery life should roughly be a little higher, maybe come close to the 4 hour mark.

Anyways the W3J has a multi-bay in which you can get a modular bay battery and put that in, to get more battery life.

Ditto that.... the W3v (64mb x600 Pentium M Dothan) was as good if not a better system (less the 64bit cpu - but big deal).... That's why we never sold it here in the US, because by time it was available the Core Duo W3j was almost available.
