    Hi All,

Its upgrade time for my W3J. I would like to upgrade my HDD to 7200RPM. Just wondering, is there any 2.5" 7200RPM HDD greater than 100GB? There have been press releases from companies releasing HDD greater than 100GB, but its only for SATA, something the W3J does not have!

    So, is there:

    PATA 2.5" 7200RPM HDD > 100GB?

Not that I've seen. I just upgraded my HDD to 7200 and the highest capacity I could find was a 100GB 7200 PATA. The only way to get larger capacity in the W3J is to stick with the 5400 and get a 160GB... If you need more space you can also get the 2nd HDD bay to use in place of the DVD drive (which is what I do)

Thanks for the reply. As you can see, im trying to kill two birds with one stone. Higher RPM + Greater Capacity! Still have 60GB left on my 100GB, so it looks like I'll get the 100GB one.

5400RPM would then be shoved into some USB Enclosure I guess.

Hmmmm...where would I be able to purchase the 2nd HDD Tray from?

And can I fit my current HDD into this tray?

I had purchased mine from PROPortable.com; you'd have to check to see if they have stock still as the W3J is End of Life. Other resellers, such as BTOTech, MilestonePC, etc that are involved in this forum may be able to tell you if they have stock. It wasn't expensive at all and is extremely easy to install.
Any PATA hard drive will work in the bay, including the stock HDD.
