Nope, as it is not modular, it is soldered onto the motherboard.

The 7600 on the A8jm is modular, but 99.999999% chance ASUS will make another video card that fits in it.

Not to mention the W3j's x1600 gets warm enough, anything else will be deadly.

I assume you meant to say there's a 99.999999% chance ASUS will NOT make another video card that fits it. It doesn't seem likely for ASUS to make a new one... I'd think it wouldn't be cost effective.

If Asus keeps the design (which they usually do) for a period of a two to three years, it's likely the graphics will be built up over time. However, the MXM standard is still so new that standard today might not be standard next year.... we really don't know. It's not like there is a LOT of room built into these systems with large amounts of room to grow if need be. They're designed for their current use and all you can do is hope that future cards will shrink to at least the size of todays cards (not that much to expect really), but the fact is, if things shink so much, the form factor might change and you're screwed. I don't think it's ever really going to get to a point where you'll be upgrading everything in your chassis..... I mean intel is pushing for it, but to upgrade your motherboard and graphics cards is sort of extreme. Before you need a motherboard upgrade, your chassis is either going to be beat to hell or boring as hell..... either way, there is a certainly period where you're just going to buy something new.

.. but back to the graphics cards...... until they perfect a true standard where you could just pull your graphics card out of the system and upgrade it by picking up a part at a local store....... there's not much guarenteeing anyone can do for you. Now I've see prototypes of express card graphics cards which were basically an external device that plugged into your system through the new express card slots..... I'm not sure if that will take off, but it is one reason I suppose for trying to get express cards into all the new systems.
