Does anyone know how to make their w3j run at full speed while on battery?
I have power4gear set to high performance with 100% cpu but it won't go the full speed. I am looking at the system options frequency and looking at mobil meter frequency and they both say around 1 GHz. I am also using super pi to calculate 1M and I know that its slower than while on AC (54 sec opposed to 32 sec).
thanks

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Did you try going into Power Options in the xp control panel and setting it to Always On/desktop on battery? There might be a conflict with xp overriding P4G's settings and pulling the cpu back.
But, why would you want to max the cpu out while on battery?? The only thing that will accomplish is ruining your battery time since it's swallowing power as fast as it can, and turning the CPU into a thermal heat bloom with all that power consumption @ 100%. A much better option would be to install Notebook Hardware Control and set it to Dynamic Switching, which will instantly run the processor all the way up to full speed if the CPU load dictates, but will pull it back down when it's not in use (and keep your heat generation under control, with no appreciable hit to performance).
