Ditto that...... I must say... there are other ways to fix that, but for those who say how dumb it is for the exhaust to be on that side (just because I know you're out there), it's a notebook designed with one hell of a touchpad - so mouse use is considered very lightly and with the design of the W3, the only other option would to have been to put it on the right side in the same spot, but moving the gpu would have creates a whole bunch of fitment problems on the motherboard.... I say Mastha's "solution" is a decent one for those who are gaming hard at home and prefer the use of a mouse during those games....... the only other solution in my eyes would be to raise up the entire notebook on a notebook cooling pad so that your hand would actually be under the path of the exhaust....... However, I do realize that might make key strokes uncomfortable if in fact you're using the keyboard for the game as well....
.... I know that was a sarcastic post, but it's really a viable "solution" for those who want the power of the W3 at a given time, but can't accept the obvious heat the gpu/cpu will create and the given solution the system has to expell it. -
Cool mastha212
Another option would be to buy a cheap USB powered fan, one that twists to just about any direction you want. Then put the fan right underneath (if it's raised up) near the heat vent and have the fan blowing the air up and away before it reaches your hand.

Or magically become left handed

@ zydus : it's Logitech MediaPlay
After reading this posts now I'm working on version 2.0 of my solution so stay tuned -
Ok, first post in this topic was meant to be a joke. But after 2 answers I started to think about more "profesional" approach. And here you have result. Oh, and remember kids, don't do it at home
Ok, to make our usb-powered-w3j-hot-air-solution we need :
1 x broken or useless USB cable (actually we need only the connector)
1 x "shield" (I took cd-box part, but if you want to can use some wood piece or whatever you imagine)
Also knife, screw x 1 and screwdriver and 30 minutes of free time.
1. First we must cut off the USB connector and make a hole in a "shield". Make a mark on a shield in place when connector will be contact it. Hole must be about 3mm in diameter.
2. Now we must make "a path" in connector using screw (this screw will later connect both parts).
3. At the end we just put this two parts together.
4. And that's it!! Your diy-usb w3 mod is ready. I use part from cd-box cause I wanted to show one more thing. During gaming you can use booklet to show others what you're gaming at the moment
.
But as I said before you can use wood (and engrave something on it). There are a lot of options to "customize" your shield. I hope this will help w3 owners to settle with hot air. All I can say that it's very easy to make and most of all - it's working!!
Enjoy!!

Haha! Hey Mastha, ever watch that show MacGyver?
-
Hehe, of course, one of my favourites when I was a child
-
killed perfectly good usb cable for that? =(
How about get a tiny computer fan and mod it to be usb powered and push outcoming air towards back? -
Shadow, it's only a USB cable, have dozen of those (with everything I bought I got almost the same cable).
-
Another solution is to put your coffe/tea near the vent and it will hold its temperature for longer. Maybe a bit risky if you are the kinda person that gets carried away and have to relive the anger on the mouse or keyboard but you dont have to play macgyver like mastha.

Most desktop computer fans use a 12v's of power. USB is only 4.8v. You would most likely need a fan in the 4-6v range for it too work. Otherwise that would save you some money of buying a USB fan. But hey there really only $5-10 bucks.

watch that the screw doesn't create a bridge within the usb port or u might short the motherboard

I have been using my W3J for over a week now and I hardly ever notice the hot air coming out of the right side. If I do happen to get a blast of hot air on my hand I just move my hand down a couple inches and everything is back to normal.

Hilarious!
But ofcourse i have yet a beter solution.
1. Mount your mouse on a book
2. get a cooler pad if the heat on the right side bothers you -
Love the solution, great to see someone go the extra mile and create a solution rather than just whinge and complain!
fantastic keep em coming
