W3j, i did it

So I finally pulled the trigger. After nearly 6 months of searching for a laptop, I pulled the trigger on the W3j. I preordered it for $1799 at allasus.com.

I spoke to John at allasus.com and I was told that they were expecting the W3J to be in around May 1st (the first shipment). Is that true for the other resellers? I noticed there were some threads about the delay but people seemed unclear about the actual ETA.


HOW THE HECK AM I GONNA WAIT THAT LONG?

Congrats and welcome to the club. May 1st is the date we have been told by Justin (proportable) and Canadasys (well the first week of May). So yeah, looks like you're in good shape.

 

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I returned my Sony Vaio FJ270/B just to get the W3J... but now there's the wait... ahhhhhh seriously can't wait.

 

Hopefully they don't start mass producing ****py w3j's just to meet demand!

 

If they were mass producing ****py W3J's we would have them already.

 

Good job on preordering. I did the same as well only i ordered from Proportable.com because they sold the extended warranty.

 

Yeah, no offense, to each their own, but why would you pre-order from allasus.com for $1799, when Justin/Proportable is offering it for $1749 with the forum discount...and is very helpful, dependable and accessable???

Maybe he decided too late and could only be in the second shipment? Maybe he didn't want to wait? Who knows... Maybe he has personal reasons between Justin and him, some feud that goes way back. hahaha, glad he ordered though, that's the point ain't it?

 

I think the forum discount 50$ is discontinued like last thursday or something.

Can somebody enlighten me: why would anybody WAIT for a laptop that doesn't have DVI!? I mean, why not wait for Asus laptop that HAS DVI?

 

Wait for DVI?

I thought the A6jc or whatever it is the A8jc or something that canadasys now has in stock has DVI.

Danny placed photos of it online and it clearly has DVI output on the back.

Unless I'm so drunk I'm seeing things.

 

I know having DVI is not something that would influence my decision in buying a laptop, so I'm sure other people feel the same way...I just have no use for DVI.

If I hadn't already splurged on my z70va, I would definitely be investing in a W3j, it looks amazing.

Just so It's clear whether you're being sarcastic or not...I posed that rhetorical question in my response Seeing as the first shipment is/was no longer sold out, and very much an available option to anyone when you made your first comment, thereby making your comment false.

The fact that the first shipment was no longer sold out was already common knowledge and readily available information...if you had taken the time to read through other posts at the time you made your inaccurate post/response then you'd understand what I was saying, not asking. That's why all your comments in here are insane and a ridiculous waste of time. Geez man, get a life. (That was sarcasm as well, I'm not actually asking or telling you to get a life, just thought I'd write this out for you since everything I say has to be clarified literally for you)

Um...because he preordered it before Proportable opened up the preorders again? The OP was made on 4/13/06 around noon, and Justin announced the arrival of more units and reopened preorders that same day at 7:51PM (EDT).

Yeah I'm a troll and dirtbag, can somebody close this thread already??? If you've been in the Asus forums for any length of time, you'd see that that's the last thing I am, and I'm sure there are other regulars in here who can back that up.

I already apologised for that response, I said I was tired and stressed...I felt that his response was a waste and it annoyed me that he would then have the nerve to waste more time by saying "Did it occur to you that you might seem stupid for asking someone if they can read...........on a forum!" When It was rhetorical to begin with.

Dkh27, It's not your fault in any way, I was curious why you didn't order from Justin if you were going to pre-order, seeing as he was cheaper and has a great reputation...and I got my answer. I'm sorry I even asked though, because It really doesn't matter why, that's your choice and It led to all this. Anyways, sorry and have fun with your W3J when you get it, let us all know what you think.
