    Bought the W3v last week.
I only get some screen distortion on boot-up and shut down on the "WindowXP" screen saver picture. Above and below the blue bars of the WindowXP "screen saver" there is some eneven orange colour distortion between the blue and white bars. Once boot-up the W3v screen saver looks perfect.
Has anybody else had this? The rest of the time the screen quality is fine.
Asus support recommended a download of the "ATI graphic driver" update or a clean wipe or send it in...

edit: There is also a blue hue on the upper left corner that is markedly lighter then the rest of the screen. Again, only on the WindowXP picture on boot-up and shut down.

GuzziMan I know what you mean. I get something similar on my Z70Va, which started happening recently on shutdown off battery power.

I hope it's not hardware related, but it might be.

I get a bunch of multicoloured square and rectangular distortions across the screen, also known as artifacts, that come up when I shutdown sometimes off battery power. Sometimes I have to shutdown by holding the power button for 4 seconds.
