    Hi,
I've encountered the same problem before, and i had Asus Service center to replace my battery. My W3v battery charge light is always ON even when the notebook is off with adapter plugged in. The battery is always in very low charge mode, 0.222watts and below. sometimes even 0 watts. my battery has been 0% for quite afew days. it takes about 4 to 5 days for it to increase to 1%... and so on so forth. I used to remember my charge rate was over +25watts.... my global warranty has expired, and changing the battery will be too expensive.

Is there a way to FORCE CHARGE the battery using some software?

Did you try calibration ? it might help a bit. But apart from that, I don't know of any non-hardware ways of doing it. I know there are some special chargers that might be able to resurrect it, but the price for such devices is too high AFAIK.

Please advice further on how ways to force charge. I've tried calibrating it, it will stuck at 'charging mode' ... just before 'discharging mode'. the longest i waited was 2 nights. very sad.

I believe the battery can absorb more coz when i full run flat the battery (until laptop cuts power battery full deplete).. and re-enter windows, NHC started displaying the healthy charging rate of over 25watts.. but it drop to .222watts and fluctuates btw .222 and 0 watts after the capacity reaches above 2600mWh....

the last battery i used before swapping with Asus center had the same symptom. how much does your G1s seems like the next gen of W3v... it has the same retail price too... good for you.. spec looks great.

All Li-ion batteries over time eventually lose the ability to gain and/or hold a charge - it's the way things are. Given that you're running a W3v, which is now 2-3 years old, and depending on your use/charge habits over the that time, you're probably at the end of the battery's expected useful life. Only option is going to be replacement of the battery @ $120-140, or use on AC as much as possible. sorry.

At 2600mWh max charge, that's about 5% of spec original. Makes me think the wear level is 95%, which is why you're getting good charge until 2600, and then it slips to zero (the battery is telling XP that it's full).

precisely, i believe the battery is telling XP that it is full, thus the slow charge wattage.... i wonder how to make xp know that it is not full at all. tried reinstalling ATPI... no use.

Well, if ClearSkies is correct (and I believe he is) the battery is full. It can no longer store a charge larger than those 5%.

Your battery is probably just dead. Either buy a new one, or use the notebook only on AC as suggested earlier. Sorry about it, but all things must pass -- that's how life works. :)

kind of sad that the replaced battery which is refurbished dies out so fast. could it be because i tend to use the laptop battery in the past all the way until my laptop cuts power (fully battery flat)? But if thats the case there should be some quality control on batteries.. the replacement battery only lasted me for like 4 months... i use batteries often every 2 days full drain...
