I'm trying to decide what battery to go after with the W5. I'm thinking about getting a spare, but I'm not sure how big they are. I know that this being an ultraportable that its likely that a large battery would stick out the back a bit, but I haven't been able to find a very good demonstration of how pronounced this is with the different sized batteries.

Any suggestions out there? Is it better to go with two of the smaller (6-cell?) batteries with one spare to be swapped out, or with one of the 9-cells? Thanks.

the standard 6 cell will stick out the back 3/4"... the 9 cell will stick out 1 1/2".

I can't suggest one over the other really... but consider you'll get 50% more life out of the 9 cell.

Thanks, are there any pictures you could point me to? I haven't been able to find any myself.

I went with the standard 3-cell and a 9-cell on my Z33Ae, only because the 6 and the 9 cost about the same. The large battery sticks out quite a bit, I don't know how the W5 compares.

You could always look at the pictures of the W5 on our site... look at the Z33 pictures as well.. the are various batteries being used on all of them... but I gave you the physical measurements.... that's the most important bit of information...
