    Excerpt:

    Impressions and Conclusions

As far as an ultra-portable laptop goes, the Asus W5F has everything and then some -- an integrated camera, a bonus Blue Tooth mouse, and even digital audio output. Sure it does not play games very well, but I challenge you to find a 12.1" laptop that does! The fact is the W5F isn't marketed as a gaming laptop and it has a lot more to offer than gameplay anyway.

aye, 12.1-inch laptops really are nice for the road or being mobile. In fact, if you've got the money and need a PC all the time then a DTR for the home and a n ultraportable for the road is quite a sweet place to be ;)

Gotta agree. Call me old fashioned (or cutting-edge :p ), but I'm still most excited by notebooks that offer serious portability and battery life. Yeah, big DTR's are pretty impressive, but with recent advances in the notebook world, it's becoming more common to see some fairly powerful components in smaller packages (W5F, Sony SZ, upcoming Z35F and W7J). These smaller PCs really make the most sense to me: have a desktop at home (with more affordable, more upgradable components), and a nice little portable notebook for school/work/travel.

Thanks for the review link, Undertow, I always enjoy reading about Asus impressions. Cheers to the sub-mainstream notebooks!

This review makes me totally anxious for the W7 now.

Man, W5/7 is a tempting package. "Must hold out for Merom" keeps running through my head, though.
