I read somewhere that it is supposed to be priced at $2199. At that price it is completely screwed, because the outgoing W5Fm only cost $1500. I know the e has Sideshow, but how much really is that worth? Surely not 50% more?

Yeah definitly not, does it have any other upgrades tho?

It will probably be cheaper tho, the c90 was supposed to be 1500$ but it came out at 1000$

It seems to be really expensive itself.
I saw W5Fe in Iran and they also have the W5F.
Let me compare them for you :
    Both with C2D 2.0GHz/1GB/Extra battery/GMA
    W5FE : Sideshow/Vista Business/160GB/Camera
    W5F : Vista Premium/80GB

    The W5F : ~$2050
    The W5FE : ~$2850

I like it because it reminds me of a custom computer mod I did where I had a 5" lcd on the side of my case. Was able to do all sorts of cool things with it.

Of course this wont be as usfull since its on the opposite side of the screen that your viewing so they can only be used seperate.

Wow, that is a pretty good price for an ultraportable WITH sideshow. Way better than the early estimates =P. In any case, what is the sideshow used for?

Many uses; think SideBar with its own dispay, power and memory.
Currently, not that many "gadgets" have been developed.

There is/was a forum on it here:
    http://microsoftgadgets.com/forums/13/ShowForum.aspx

although it seems to have fallen into disuse.

Things like checking your email, playing a small game, etc. I saw on gizmodo of there being small sideshow handheld devices in development for all the other laptops without sideshow capability.

Indeed, there has been talk for a while about Sideshow becoming integrated into other devices. In fact, a couple months ago one of the WM PM's used a Windows Mobile device as a Sideshow display...
