Hello,
I am looking at the ASUS W7 Series W7S-B1B NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T7500(2.20GHz) 13.3" Wide XGA 1.5GB DDR2 667 160GB 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G - Retail
What is the casing material of this notebook?
Is it as solid as a Vaio?
Thanks alot!

It's part carbon fibre composite(so plastic + carbon fibre mix) for its chassis and a magneisum alloy composite(again, with plastic) lid. What are you comparing it to?

hello, thank you for your help.
i want the rock solid durability and robustness of a thinkpad. I have never owned a Vaio but a Vaio casing looks solid in pictures (it looks like light metal alloy).
I was hoping the Asus was also light metal alloy.. alas, its not. It sounds like the plastic-y material of my Toshiba Satellite, which is a shame because the plastic-y material makes it feel cheaper and flimsier.. -
I am comparing to this type of Vaio:
