A good rule of thumb to replace a motherboard or an lcd is 1/3 of the notebook cost..... so for a W7, about $500. I'd also like to know what you did to it, since it must not have been something covered under warranty..... I'd gather a soda/beer/water spill perhaps?

A spill is correct. I think I spoke to you about it a while back. The spill whiped out the WiFi and USb portion of the motherboard. A friend of mine got it back up and running but was not able to get the wifi and usb to work. He said he could fix it if I replaced the entire motherboard. As of now it makes a very expensive DVD player unless he can get his hands on a motherboard. He used to be computer technician until he became a male nurse. I can either send it to be fixed or he can do the job for me.

    Thank You.

I'm not sure if you spoke to me about it, but I think I may have over heard something about it.... We see a lot of this, but when it happens to a pretty new system and someone else wants to replace it, I tend pay attention. If you want some help with it, you probably spoke to someone in support, give them a call and we could certainly hook you up if needed.

Man...that is harsh. Its bad enough on an older machine, but such a new one. I feel for you. I hope you can find something. :)
