    W7J vs. Z35F ?

    Are these two the same notebook? ie: barebones vs. ensemble..

    not exactly. the new line of Asus notebooks don't seem to have the barebones/ensemble relationship that the 2004/2005 line did, i.e z63/w3, z70/m6. there are numerous cosmetic differences between the w7j and the z35f, but they have essentially the same internal hardware (disregarding the video card and the slightly different chipsets).

    z35f has battery jut (like the w5)
    z35f has mechanical latch, w7j has the magnetic latch
    z35f does not have a webcam

    they both have 13.3" widescreen, and the same I/O that the w5 has (2x USB, IR, 1394 firewire, multicard reader, modem, ethernet, etc)

    Thanks for the insight. Sounds like the W7J is a little higher end huh.. i like it. I was very close to pulling the trigger on an SZ160P/C.
