I'm thinking of purchasing a W7S-B1B but I was curious what the make and model number of the DVD drive is. I have a large collection of Region 1, 2, and 3 DVDs and I want to make sure the drive is compatible with region free software. As long as the drive isn't an RPC2 locked drive made by panasonic/matsu****a, it should be okay. I would greatly appreciate it if a W7S owner would open up their hardware properties and paste in the model number of their DVD drive. Thanks a lot!

I'm not familiar with the DVD drive brand of the W7S and I haven't really tried any region software on mine at the moment. Here's a picture I took of the DVD drive whilst I was upgrading my W7S and the model number is just about readable (too much macro):

HL Data Storage appears to be the make as shown

Also device manager recognises the model of the DVD drive as:
    HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20L

Yep mine uses the GSA-T20L from HL Data as well. Haven't tried any region unlocking stuff since I haven't needed it.
